Last week I had the pleasure of touring the old Atlanta Constitution Building on Alabama Street in downtown Atlanta. Invest Atlanta organized it and the purpose of the visit was for potential developers and designers to see what kind of condition it is in. I can say that it is in way worse shape than what Ponce City Market was when I started visiting in 2010. The big reason is that it has been unoccupied for such a long time. Despite that, it is a beautiful building with some interesting features in a great location. The rooftop garden is 100% natural and has a great view of Phillips Arena and the new Falcons Stadium. The ground floor has an amazing lobby with an arched ceiling and views of downtown.
After witnessing the rebirth of Ponce City Market, it is clear to me that the building is very worthy of a renovation. Let's hope that whoever acquires the building feels the same way.
