Recent Personal Work | Atlanta Film Photography

I have wanted to get back into film for a long time, and this has been my first step. Like many, I started out learning to use & develop film, but the rise of digital cameras put a stop to that. So, I decided to devote some personal time to shooting 35mm and go from there. Luckily, I have some family members who have held onto their cameras over the years. My aunt & uncle presented me with an immaculate Canon AE-1 with a full kit of lenses & accessories. In addition, my grandmother passed to me her Ansco Shur Shot, which is probably 65 years old, at least. So, here are some frames from the past few weekends with both of these cameras, using both Kodak Ektar 100, and Fujifilm PRO400H film.

the following photos were taken with an Ansco Shur Shot box camera on Kodak Ektar 100 film:

Love the film shots. They have an ambience about them. Love the pic of the woman going down the stairs. Pure reportage.

These are wonderful!! and thank goodness for finding your posts - I was starting to give up.

I've been learning the art of photography for almost four years, now, and have had the thought that it would be so good for me to learn how to shoot film! My husband snatched this camera up on ebay when the digital world started taking hold. I am so excited to try it out but am at sea - completely in the dark about how to go about this! (Although, I've been reading a bunch from Jose Villa; so, have a tiny clue. ;) ) Anyway, 'the dark' is not very helpful when one is a photographer. I guess that I'm just gushing and rambling on in this comment because this is the first ray of light for me!! THANK YOU!!

Best wishes!
